Northwest Fan Fest is happy to announce more guests added to our lineup for 2015!

Kieran Strange is a quirky, dynamic young artist blending pop sensibilities, edgy guitars, and extremely high-energy live shows into her own personal brand of British pop-rock.  Amidst multiple convention appearances, art work releases, and costume crafting, Kieran is also currently working on a side-project with Japanese-inspired apparel and accessories company Tasty Peach Studios, which will feature J-pop influenced tunes written by Strange, along with cute animations and designs in collaboration with TPS’s talented graphic artist, Ryan Zanfei, who is responsible for the extremely popular characters currently featured in TPS’ products.

Andy Rae Cosplay is a costume designer from small town British Columbia, Canada. She has been cosplaying for roughly a year and has become totally immersed in the amazing cosplay community, making so many close friends along the way. She specializes in armor construction and has created several large scale armor builds using a thermoplastic material called Worbla. Even though she has only been in the cosplay community for a short time, she has already won several awards for her craftsmanship and is constantly challenging herself with bigger and more detailed builds.

Kayla Rose Cosplay is based out of Vancouver, BC. She’s made everything from Darth Maul to Cinderella, and has taken home a few awards for her cosplays since her first costume, Masquerade Iron Man, at Cos & Effect 2013. Since then she’s kept gravitating toward genderbends so much so that she has often been affectionately called the ‘Queen of Genderbends’. Kayla is self taught in all the elements used in her cosplays, from making patterns and sewing to teaching herself to do her own makeup and special FX.

Northwest Fan Fest is happy to announce more guests added to our lineup for 2015!

Uwe Boll is a German director, producer and screenwriter, who is best known for loosely adapting video games into movies including House of the Dead, Alone in the Dark, Alone in the Dark II, BloodRayne, BloodRayne II: Deliverance, BloodRayne: The Third Reich, In the Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Tale, Postal, and Far Cry. He finances his own films through his Boll KG and Event Film Productions production companies. Many of his grindhouse-type films are produced on low budgets and are routinely a favourite target for Internet critics.

The Gentlemen Hecklers provide live, hilarious commentary for the best bad movies! Sit with Vancouver’s masters of movie riffing and join the Gentlemen at Northwest Fan Fest as they take a gander at, perhaps, the ultimate in cinematic sci-fi camp: Ed Wood’s PLAN 9 FROM OUTER SPACE, starring Bela Lugosi and Vampira.

Geekenders is a Vancouver theatre troupe celebrating alternative beauty and pop culture and producing Vegas-style nerdy spectaculars, plays, events, and dances. Their shows, described as “geeky fun meets Moulin Rouge and the Muppet Show,” have drawn thousands of audience members over the last two years to shows ranging from a send-up of The Wizard of Oz to a cabaret-style show exploring the world of Doctor Who. The performers have entertained over 6,000 people at their sold-out Star Wars shows (“A Nude Hope,” “The Empire Strips Back” and “Reveal of the Jedi”.)

Northwest Fan Fest is proud to present: The Doubleclicks!

The Doubleclicks are a pair of sisters who sing about Dungeons & Dragons, dinosaurs, and Mr. Darcy. They play cello and ukulele. They have been called snarky, geeky, and sweet. Their latest album, Lasers & Feelings, includes songs about Mars Curiosity, meeting people on the Twitter, Geek Girl pride, and debuted in the top 10 on the Billboard comedy charts. Their single for that album, a geek girl anthem called “Nothing to Prove,” has been viewed over 1 million times on YouTube. The Doubleclicks tour the country regularly, playing at game stores, comic shops, and conventions, and have shared bills with nerd and comedy superstars including Jonathan Coulton, Paul and Storm and Wil Wheaton. In early 2014, the Doubleclicks raised over $80,000 in a Kickstarter campaign to fund a new album (Dimetrodon, June 2014) and a music video project.  We’re excited to have them join us at #NWFF2015!

Check them out on Bandcamp and Youtube!

We’re also excited to have joining us: Fighting Dreamers Productions, West Coast Geeks versus Nerds and The Fictionals Comedy Co! Stay tuned for more guests!  http://northwestfanfest.wcsfa.org/guests/
